Membership

Membership: The National Association for the Blind, India is a membership organization where its Executive Council is elected through secret ballot once in 4 years. There are 3 types of Membership available:



1. Life Membership:  Any person can become life member of NAB on one-time payment of Rs.50/- as admission fee and Rs.500/- as membership fee subject to the approval of Executive Council of the Association. The Life Members are entitled to vote in the election of the Executive Council.

2. Ordinary Membership: Aany member can become Ordinary Member on payment of Rs. 50/- as admission fee and an annual contribution of Rs.100/- subject to the approval of Executive Council of the Association. They have to renew their membership every year by paying the annual contribution on 1st April. This amount is subject to change from time to time by the General Body of the Association. All Ordinary Members are entitled to vote in the election of the Executive Council.

3.  Corporate Membership:  Any Corporate House or Business entity interested in the empowerment of the blind may become Corporate Member by paying Rs. 2,500 as an admission fee and a one-time contribution of 2,50,000/- subject to the approval of the Executive Council of the Association. This amount is subject to change from time to time by the Executive Council of the Association. Corporate Members are not entitled to vote in the election of the Executive Council of the Association. 

Membership is not a prerequisite for any blind person for receiving services of the Association.  Further, no criteria such as membership etc. have been laid down for those who wish to volunteer their services for the Association.
