Alpaiwalla Award

January 19th is celebrated as an occasion
for appreciating the generous and dedicated
contribution of Rustom Merwanji Alpaiwalla, the Founder President
of NAB, India, by presenting awards to individuals for their outstanding
contribution to the field of Blind Welfare.
Two individuals, each, in the category of
Professional Work and Voluntary Work are presented the award on
an all India basis. Over the years 94 individuals from different
parts of India, 47 each in the Professional and the Voluntary category
have received these awards for their contribution in:
- The field of education, rehabilitation, training or placement
of the blind
- Administration and management of the services for the blind
- Prevention and cure of blindness
- Or any other programme related to the welfare of the blind.
Each award includes a Scroll of Honor and
Cash Award of Rs. 10,000/-
